Restoration of Museum Artifacts
With the help of a National Lottery Grant and the Heritage Lottery Fund, work has begun on the restoration and conservation of many of the Regimental Museum Artifacts.
This painstaking work is being carried out by three specialist conservators:
Katharine Barker is an Accredited Conservator Restorer, based in the West Midlands. She specialises in textile conservation and works for a wide range of clients in both public and private sectors. She trained at the Victoria & Albert Museum and has been in private practice for 18 years.
Ronald Moore - is included on the register of Conservation Unit of the Museums and Galleries Commission, English Heritage and the Council for the Care of Churches and has a BA (Hons) (Courtauld Institute of Art, London University)
Phil Parkes - has wide experience conserving museum objects and archaeological finds. He qualified with a BSc in Archaeological Conservation and has been based in Cardiff for 10 years. Phil Parkes was initially employed at Cardiff University as a conservator carrying out archaeological conservation for Cadw. Over the last six years he has developed this into a professional conservation service catering for the private sector. Phil Parkes is an accredited member of UKIC and a member of IIC.
Inline with National Heritage guidelines the project must be completed by December 2005
