Mounted trooper charging at Waterloo. The King’s Dragoon Guards were brigaded in the Household Cavalry Brigade and made up forty percent of its strength. During the battle the KDG charged thirteen times, and although they started the day with 570 sabres by the end of it there were no more than 30 still fit for battle.
