Battle Honours

The Histories of The KDG, Bays and QDG are Shown on the Regimental Standard

The easiest way to understand the history of the antecedent regiments of the QDG, the KDG and Bays is to focus on these regiments’ battle honours, the most important of which are emblazoned in chronological order on the Regimental Standard, the Regiment’s own special flag (there are many other accredited battle honours for which there is no room on this flag). These flags are known as Standards in the heavy cavalry, Guidons in the light cavalry and as Colours in infantry regiments.

The Regimental Standard is normally found in Regimental Headquarters but to save a visit there, below is a list of the QDG’s battle honours which can be used as an aide memoire to remember the Regiment’s illustrious history.
